Pregnant Pause No-Sew (almost)

Let me begin right away by specifying that:

But this is a Maternity dress

I love polka dots. For .99 cents, I happily snatched this up.

I didn’t need to do much.

I could’ve left this as-is and it would’ve been a perfectly acceptable no sew refashion. But I decided to take it in just a wee bit.

Et voila

Paired with some fleece lined tights and Danskos, I was all set.

Pausing to reflect if I actually were pregnant…

Muffin wanted to take some new head shots for his business cards, so we headed downtown.

He was kind enough to take some pictures for me too 🙂

Does anyone recognize the cardigan I’m wearing? 🙂

Though it was super warm during the day, it cooled off quite a bit in the afternoon.

I don’t mind admitting that I’m not super happy with the length. I feel like I cut too much off. It’s a bit short (for my legs…let’s be honest) to be a dress. But it’s a little too long to wear with skinny jeans. I went ahead and posted these photos even though I’ll probably cut the length shorter and wear it as a tunic eventually. Muffin likes it when I wear dresses so I promised to keep it like this for a little while though 🙂

I try to keep Muffin happy!

This post is a bit befitting considering the refashion is a maternity outfit… but also since it’s been a while since my last post (Pregnancy. Pause. Get it???).  I recently got a promotion at my job and it’s consumed a lot more of my time, which is a really good thing!

Seriously though… we’re pretty cute 🙂

Muffin also surprised me with THIS a few weeks ago:

It’s a boy! 😉

I swore off pets in 2011 when I had to re-home my first cat. It was just too painful and I said, “Never again!”

Well… I came home from work one day and Muffin’s just sitting on the couch with this little guy and, what can I say? I’m in love. It’s been an adjustment getting used to life with a pet again. But I think we’re settled in and used to each other now 🙂

I should be able to get back to sewing more refashions for myself without month long breaks in between now.

  1. Hi, I loved this post and I think you did a great job on your refashion. I admired your work when you were participating in Refashion Runway over at The Renegade Seamstress and have been following you for a while. I love doing that same type of refashion and have a wordpress blog too which is where I just shared this post. I also shared it on Twitter.

Thanks for sharing, and your fur-baby is adorable, and the picture of you and Muffin is very cute.
