I just got back from vacation. 8 days goes by so fast in paradise… Usually, I wear several refashions when we go to Florida and will post about them when we get back. This trip was a little more laid back for us and, honestly, I was lazy. What are vacations for, right? 🙂 This is the only refashion I have from our glorious week on Siesta Key.
It’s not too shabs as-is. But I just didn’t care for the overall look… I took off the sleeves, shortened the length, and took it in a smidge at the side seams.
But it was still pretty boring… so I thought I’d make a sash from the scraps and play with decorative stitches 🙂
The Satin Stitch foot is see-through and it has metal “plates” underneath it that help flatten out the fabric and keep it from sliding.
Yeah, so after all of that… I thought it was just a little too tacky to wear lol. But I did finish all the hems with this aqua thread to tie it all in, and I did use a decorative stitch around the neckline to tie it all together (even though I discarded this sash completely…).
It was so NOT my intention to channel Ana from “Frozen” with this look… seriously.
This top was super light weight for temps in the upper 90s.
Number 4 (what I refer to my baby brother as), moved to Florida a year ago. It was great spending time with him while we were there.
Visiting Mote Marine Aquarium is still a favorite. I’ve been there at least 100 times and I never get sick of it.
So many Aquatic wonders!
I’m afraid this is the only refashion I have from our trip. I was having too much fun hanging out with my brother &muffin (of course!), watching Olympics, and relaxing at the beach to worry about refashioning 🙂
Maybe when we go back in November for our Anniversary I’ll have more. In the meantime, Happy Refashioning!
