I’ve been so busy building my Mary Kay business (Free Chevy Cruze, here I come!) that I truly have not had time to sew. I still work at Job #1 full time and then schedule my Facials/Skin Care Class parties after that every night. I’m always on the go and it’s awesome 🙂
lazy busy am I that I don’t even take proper “before” pics 🙂
This fabulous Maxi Dress is from my favorite Local Consignment Shop. I absolutely LOVED it. I did not, however, love the length or that stupid built-in necklace thing…
Interestingly enough, it seemed to be hand sewn in…
Why anyone would sew a necklace into a dress I’ll never know… but to each her own, I guess.
Next, I had to get rid of some length #ShortGirlProblems
Very carefully, I cut off the length, because I’m not going to finish this hem. I just don’t want to…
I love it!
No sewing required, folks.
I paid a little bit more for this dress; $5. And I’m okay with that. I’ve been changing my mindset on clothing. Before, all I looked at was the price tag: the cheaper the better. Now, I’m more discerning. I don’t want to buy something just because it’s super cheap. I want to feel fabulous and beautiful (don’t we all?). If I have to pay just a little bit more than it’s worth it, I think.
After I snapped these shots, I headed out to a locally owned restaurant where my Mary Kay Unit held our Awards Night.
Our fiscal year is July through June, so this was our 2015 end-of-the-year bash.
I made off like a bandit! I got so many prizes for various different Mary Kay milestones. What I’m the most proud of, perhaps, was the “Rookie of the Year” award I received. I was a consultant from 2006-2013 but when Muffin and I hit hard times, I gave up on it because I just didn’t have the energy or mindset to pursue it… I was working 3 jobs and donating plasma and I was tired, emotionally and physically. Thankfully, I was able to quit all my part-time gigs this January. Something inside me, though, wasn’t ready to give up on the Mary Kay Opportunity… April 30, 2016 I decided to give it another shot and signed back up. I’ve made more money in the months since than I did with my other part-time jobs combined! I wish I’d have quit those jobs and not Mary Kay back in ’13.
So, for me to get multiple awards for 2 and half months of “work” is a pretty big deal.
My goal for this fiscal/seminar year is to earn a Career Car. I have a 2007 Dodge Caliber that I own free and clear. When I earn my Mary Kay car, I’m going to give my Caliber to my best friend. She, too, has fallen on some hard times and this is a way I can help.
I’m super excited for what lies ahead. It’s going to be great!
Happy NO sewing, y’all.
