DIY Drawer Organizer

Do you ever get in one of those moods where you just have to clean EVERYTHING? I don’t know if it’s cabin fever because I was stuck indoors for training and then being sick… I don’t know if it’s just that I’m a smidgen ADD… Perhaps it was just a random burst of energy.

I don’t know.

Yesterday, I was in one of “those” moods. After I swept and dusted and cleaned the bathroom, I went to my sock drawer. Why, I don’t exactly know. But THIS is what I saw:

Am I the only one who has a sock drawer like this?

Well, not anymore.

I found one of my Dansko shoe boxes in my closet.

With some hot dissection action with my scissors, I made the box fit perfectly (ish) in my drawer.

…that’ll work πŸ™‚

I ended up tossing out a lot of socks that had holes in them or were just worn out. Like, seriously, some of those socks I’ve had since college. Yikes. I can only imagine what was hiding in the fibers of that material… ew.

Separate the men from the boys… or the darks from the lights πŸ™‚ This is where my slight OCD comes in to play.

And, voila! I have organization… at least in my humble sock drawer.

All it took was 5 minutes, maybe 10, of my time.

Sure, I could’ve bought a drawer divider for pretty cheap, but what’s the fun in that?

I know this post is a little different than what I typically do. I’m an accidental seamstress but I’m also an accidental cheapskate πŸ˜‰ My camera was on my dresser, so I took a chance and decided to document my cleaning spree moment of brilliance
