That 70’s Halloween

This year’s Halloween theme goes to Hubs. He wanted a 70’s motif. I’m convinced, he just wanted an excuse to wear a fro-licious wig…

My mom and dad hooked us up with apparel that they still had from their youth, but to really set off the “look” I really needed bell-bottoms.

I bought these jeans from LOFT on my honeymoon 3 years ago… believe me when I say I’ve worn them to death! They’re no longer appropriate for anything but lounging and painting… and Halloween πŸ™‚

This is how I turned them into bell bottoms:

1.) Evidence of being worn to death.

2.) I cut on each pant leg outer seam 17 inches from the bottom.

3.) My dad’s worn to death pair of jeans he gave me for scraps. Like Father, like daughter.

4.) I cut dad’s pant legs off for the bell bottom part of my new Halloween jeans.

5.) Turning MY jeans on their side

6.) I overlapped Dad’s pant leg scrap and folded it to get the angle right. (I’m so precise!) πŸ˜‰

7.) Cut

8.) Repeat

It’s a rather crude tutorial but that’s all I got. And it seamed to do the trick for Halloween πŸ˜‰

Is my mom’s trench coat totally awesome or what?

Dad’s scraps worked out just fine for my bell bottoms πŸ™‚

Muffin is rockin’ out that wig something fierce. Mmm hmm.

His old leisure suit worked well for Hubs tooΒ

I think we pulled it off with great panache.

Minus the wig, this Halloween was completely free and DIY.

Bandmates… fun times at A. Michael’s for an adult (not THAT kind) party.

Hope everyone had a safe and Happy Halloween πŸ™‚
