Kindergarten Revisited

You may recall that one of my New Year’s Resolutions for 2014 was not to spend a dime on new clothing. The ONLY clothes covering this body are articles I’ve refashioned for .99 cents or less.

However… πŸ™‚

If Hubs decides to splurge on yours truly, well, there’s really nothing I can do about that, is there? …Like getting me these sweet new Chucks!

Love πŸ™‚ Most of the stuff in my wardrobe doesn’t really reflect the “style” of Chucks… I mean, really, there’s a style that has to go with these. I almost think they’re too cool for me but I did my best to give justice to their coolness.

I started with this:

I received this “Smoke Free Class of 2000” Tshirt when I was in Kindergarten! Seriously. I WISH I had a picture of me rocking this out at the tender age of 6. Sad thing is, I remember the day my classmates and I all received these tshirts. I remember the “play” we put on to affirm our commitment to being a smoke-free class by our graduation in 2000. 2000 seemed so far away at the time… Now, it’s so far away on the opposite end of the spectrum. Ain’t life a kick in the head?

I don’t know WHY I kept this tshirt but I’m glad I did. I’m even MORE excited I could actually WEAR it! It’s a bit snug though, let’s just say it.

I decided to add a panel in to the sides of the tshirt to give me a little extra room.

boring black tshirt in my stash of scraps

I cut the sides of my yellow tshirt, pinned the new black panels in, and sewed them down.

Behold the new side panel:

It’s ever so slightly more roomy now πŸ™‚

I also cut off the sleeves and the band around the neck.

I hope this “style” does the Chucks justice πŸ˜‰

Does that jacket look familiar to anyone? It was one of my very first refashions! I gave it another dye bath a while ago to spice up the color a bit. It’s funky. I dig it πŸ™‚

As for my resolution to only have ONE coffee drink (black coffee in the morning doesn’t count!) a week from Starbucks or Main St. Cafe….

Well, I digress. Don’t judge me… I can stop ANY TIME!

Iced Nutella Latte, how do I love thee!

I didn’t have to go in to Job #2 after work, so I got a little cray cray with my color palette. I definitely felt like a Kindergartener again… a stylin’ 31 year old Kindergartener πŸ˜‰
