I remember her birthday like it was yesterday.

Me & Kalli, 2006

My sister-in-law wasn’t due to go into labor for another week, so I woke up that morning with a bounce in my step and butterflies in my stomach. I had a SUPER important meeting the next day in Cincinnati, OH. Just as I was about to head out the door to rendezvous with my mom and a friend to commence our trip, the phone rang… Lyndsi was in labor.

I was ecstatic and livid at the same time. Before you decide I’m the world’s most selfish aunt/sister ever it might make a difference if you knew what my super important meeting was all about… I had a screen test with NBC producers of The Biggest Loser. I was being considered as a contestant for Season 3.

Kalli was a bit stubborn… but she FINALLY arrived in the late afternoon. I got to meet and hold her before mom and I made a mad dash to Ohio… to be turned down for the show 😦

C’est la vie. It all worked out okay in the end, right? πŸ™‚ So, let’s get on with today’s project

This mason jar formerly housed some amazing hot chocolate mix. We went through it pretty fast this season and for weeks it just SAT there. So, I decided to get creative by copying this project I saw on pinterest πŸ™‚

I gathered the required supplies, followed the directions (*gasp!), and wouldn’t cha know… it turned out the way it was supposed to.

Now, all my buttons I salvage from my refashions have a home.

Cheers to following directions… and to nieces on her birthday! πŸ™‚
