Remember this refashion from waaaaaay back? Yeah, neither does anyone else… including me.
…cuz it sucked.
I attempted to make one ruffled scarf from these 2 scarves.
…and ended up with this
Yeah… not my best work 😦 Miraculously enough, it’s not even my worst work 🙂 I intended to rectify this situation, however.
Summers in Indiana (usually) are sweltering. This summer has been freakishly cool. I NEVER leave my arms uncovered, regardless of how hot it may be. I cover up the flab at all costs. These (former) scarves are super lightweight and would make the perfect arm cover-upper for a hot summer day… I had plenty of material left over from this failed refashion.
So, I decided to make a shrug from the leftover blue scarf!
As you can see, I folded it in half lengthwise. Then, I sewed the edges down (top right corner of scarf and bottom right corner of scarf) and in about 8 inches. This left a gaping hole in the middle.
After I removed the tassels, there was a raw edge on the opposite ends. So, I gave them a quick hem 🙂
And that’s it 🙂 I paired this with a black tank top and some jeans for a dinner with my Birthday twin, Billie.
I liked it almost as much as Lucia liked her guacamole.
There’s really nothing to do in Kokomo but eat… and go to Target! Who doesn’t love a good trip to Target? It was Billie’s birthday wish.
Target was lovely. But, alas, all good things must come to an end… the only thing left to do was to go back to my place and eat some more! 🙂
I’ve always been a birthday snob. I think birthdays should be a BIG deal.
I mean, it’s the ONE day out of the whole year that’s all about YOU! If anyone’s going to make a huge fuss over you, get you a nice gift, take you out to a restaurant you’re too poor to go to otherwise… it should be on your birthday 🙂
No one else seems to share my affinity for that sentiment except for my pal Billie! She’ll always have my back when it comes to birthdays 🙂
